Who would have thought old torn up old rags woven into strong fabric could create stunning rugs and pieces of wall art! Well here at Tea & Crafting we hate to throw anything away so this craft is just up our street. Try it you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to create something delightful for your home.
Crochet Amigurumi Toys6:30 pm -
Make like the Tokyo cool-kids and learn the basics of amigurumi; crochet in the round and increase and decrease in the single crochet leave the workshop either either cute little crochet whale or octopus. This workshop comes with a warning - we guarantee you will be addicted.
Full Introduction to Sewing Machines10:00 am - 1:00 pm
In this workshop we will guide you through all you need to know about how to use a sewing machine, including tension, how and when to use the different stitches on your machine and how to change feet. You will also be taught tricks on how to sew in a straight line and curves. You will then follow a simple pattern and make an infinity scarf that you wear straight away. This class is limited to 6 people so book early to avoid disappointment.
Printed Cushion Cover3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
In this class you will be introduced to fabric printing and learn how to cut professional stencils to print with. You will then print and transfer your design onto a cushion cover and leave the workshop with a professional item for your home.
Loom Knitting6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Pro-knitters needn’t be restricted to needles alone. From across the pond comes a refreshing change of scenery for your fingertips; loom knitting. Big news in the States and in Latin America, the alternative is an easy-peasy one to pick up and difficult to drop a stitch too.
Beginners Crochet - A Christmas Star Garland12:00 pm - 2:00 am
Oh My Stars! You can’t help but feel festive just looking at these pretty stars. This is a beginner’s crochet class so no experience necessary to crochet up this lovely length of star garland.
Make a Ring set with Stone6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Learn the basics of tension setting a ring with a stone using sterling silver (or bronze if you prefer). You will turn a strip of sterling silver into a beautiful precious ring with a choice of textures, shapes and sizes to allow for creativity and to make it unique to your own style.
Dressmaking: Sew a Winter A-line Skirt11:00 am - 5:00 pm
This is a one day (6 hour) workshop where you will start and complete your garment with our expert dressmaker to guide you along the way. In this workshop you will learn how to interpret a commercial sewing pattern, how to inserts darts, zips and make a lining for your skirt. All of this in one day - what a productive weekend!
Crochet Baby Blanket6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
If you want a gift for a baby that you know will stand the test of time, go for a heart-warming baby blanket. As soon as the little one carries out the ‘face test’ (yes, the scientific act of grabbing the blanket and rubbing it across his face) he’ll be attached and cherish it for years!
Beginners Knitting7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
We’re not sure when and we can’t be sure who started it, but somehow knitting has become the quirky girl’s pastime du jour. After over two hours of knitting and knattering, you’ll feel like a pro; you’ll have learned all the basics including knit and purl stitch, how to cast on and cast off, stocking stitch and garter stitch.
Crochet Granny Squares7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Things grannies are famously good at: generous helpings of cake, world-class hugs, huge spectacles and last but not least… crocheting granny squares. Vibrant colours work a treat and always add a splash of fun to any blanket. This is one of Tea & Crafting’s most popular workshops and it’s good for beginners and intermediates alike.
Paper Cutting7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
The most zoned-out from London city life that you'll ever be is what we guarantee in this paper cutting workshop. It's incredible to think that everyday items can create something so beautiful. This workshop is taught by artist and illustrator Poppy Chancellor who has been featured on Kirsty Allsop's Vintage Home, Vogue and Channel 4's Sunday Brunch.
Beginners Crochet Hearts6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
We are so feeling the love for this latest addition to our Beginners Crochet Workshops! No experience necessary to crochet up some of this lovely and so colourful bunting. You will be taught how to crochet 3 stitches and be provided with a bunting kit to make a complete length of bunting.
Intro to Fair Isle / Colour Stranded Knitting7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Also know as stranded knitting, fair isle is a traditional knitting technique using two colours. The Nordic snowflake is a very popular design to knit in fair isle and this is what you will be knitting up whilst learning how to knit fair isle. Once you’ve learnt the technique you will be able to follow fair isle patterns and charts without a problem.
