Upcycle a pair of trousers into a pair of lined and reversible trousers perfect for that special girl or boy in your life! This is a great class for a beginner dressmaker. No experience of dressmaking is required but you do need to know how to use a sewing machine.
In this workshop you will learn how to follow a professionally graded sewing pattern, finish seams, insert elastic and add pockets. The reversible trousers we have chosen for this workshop are comfortable and practicable but can be made fun with your choose of lining. The pattern is available in sizes 12 months to 6 years. Please specify the age at the time of booking.
Level: Improvers. We will expect you to have taken the Introduction to Sewing course or be at an equivalent standard beforehand.
Duration: 3 hours
Includes: take home instructions to sew your trousers and other sewing essentials, but not fabric
Materials Needed: You will need to bring in a pair of trousers (boot cut or straight leg) as well as fabric for the lining. This can either be a pair of old pillowcases (for the older ages) and for the younger age group just one pillowcase will be fine. Old quilt covers that you no longer use make perfect lining too! If you would like to buy fabric then you will need a metre for the lining.
