Crochet Flower Brooch Pattern

Abbreviations
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
tc – treble crochet
sl st – slip stitch
rep – repeat

LARGER FLOWER

Foundation Chain
Make a foundation chain of 8ch, sl st into the first chain to make a loop.

Round 1
Make 1 ch, 16sc in the centre of the ring moving stitches in the ring to fit them all in, sl st into the first sc to join the ends.

Tip – to check how many single crochets you have done count the ‘v’s on the side you will need to count 16 ‘v’s to move onto the next stage.

Round 2
5ch, , miss one sc and sl st in next sc, *5ch, miss 1sc, dsl st into the next sc, rep from * seven more times. sl st last 5ch to first sc made.

Round 3
dc 9 times into each petal. Moving straight from one petal to the next, there is no need to add a ch stitch. It will start to “crumple” and take shape as you get to the last few petals.

Keep going until it looks like this:

SMALLER FLOWER

Foundation Chain
Make a foundation chain of 8ch, sl st into the first chain to make a loop.

Round 1
1sc *1dc, 2tc, 1dc, 1sc into the foundation loop; rep from * four more times. Fasten off.

Sew both flowers together and decorate the centres with beads or wool. Sew a safety pin at the back.
