Log Cabin Patchwork Cushion
I have always wanted to make one of these and I finally the time to sit down with the rotary cutter and sewing machine. I found this tutorial online and managed to follow it really easily (I did have an idea already of what to do so if this seem straight forward enough just google it there are so many tutorials out there).
Log cabin cushions are pieced patchwork featuring blocks made of strips of fabric typically encircling a small centered square (traditionally a red square, symbolising the hearth of the home), with light strips forming half the square and dark strips on the other side. You can create dramatic contrast effects with light and dark fabrics are created by various layouts of the blocks. It was really good for using up scraps!
I really like it (alot!) my sister in law wants a blue one too now …. out comes the sewing machine
