Tooty Frooty Crafty Catch Up
A Crafty Catch Up with a fruity twist and “bags” (literally) of Summer Fun
As London soaked up some sunshine last month we got in the summer mood with a Tooty Frooty theme, in our first Crafty Catch Up collaboration with the awesome Zoe of LadyBird Likes.
Zoe, above, couldn’t resist wearing everything pineapple and I couldn’t resist posing next to our pineapple honeycomb garlands we decorated the room with … oh and this uber cute watermelon necklace.
All 13 tickets sold out like hot cakes within days and we all had such a fantastic time! Before cracking on with the crafting, we got everyone in the holiday zone with a strawberry Prosecco cocktail each, served in mini milk bottles decorated with vinyl pineapples. Aren’t they adorable? All our guests got take their bootle home too.
With everyone now feeling truly summery and relaxed, it was time for the crafting fun to start…
Our first fruity challenge was for everyone to customize their own tote bags with a tooty frooty theme. And, just to keep everyone on their toes, there was a prize going for the best tote!
Everyone got down to work and by the time we finished the room was a gorgeous burst of tropical colours – we had some watermelon totes, a couple of pineapples, a lemon tree tote, a raspberry and a grapefruit. Each tote was so different from the next!
Here are most of the totes laid out outside for us to choose the winning tote.
With our marvellous totes now in the bag, it was time to move on to our next activity: Making strawberry pom poms! Once you know how, they are not as difficult as you might think! Everyone was so impressed to find out it really is much easier than it looks.
After all the fun, prize time came around at last and it was the tote-ally lovely raspberry who won the prize for top tote. She came away with a crochet pineapple, made by me, and a notebook with a pineapple print, made by LadyBird Like’s, Zoe.
Our next Crafty Catch Up is on the 14th September – book tickets quick as they sell out quick! You can buy your tickets here.
