I was lucky enough to be asked to host one of the workshops at the Viking Arty Party – a crafty get together organised by stationery giants Viking for bloggers at the elegant Lumiere London near Waterloo.
50 bloggers were invited to attend three different crafty parties ranging from block printing and origami to calligraphy. Held over three hours, the workshops were on at the same time, and the bloggers were divided into three groups that moved on to a different activity every hour. Fuelled by tea and pastries, the bloggers got to mix and mingle with each other throughout the event, while learning some new crafty skills!
My station was block printing and my brief was to use some of their gorgeous magazine files as our canvas. The choice of files was extensive to say the least, but in the end I settled on these lovely white magazine files (a perfect blank canvas to get creative with) that had a nice laminated sheen to them. The party guests had an hour to design their print, and then print it onto their file. It was incredible to see just how creative and unique everyone’s designs were, and although block printing is a little bit messy, no one seemed to mind getting stuck in!
Over the course of the three hours, I had loads of fun getting to meet so many interesting and friendly people. I already knew some of the bloggers from reading their blogs online, so it was especially nice for me being able to finally put a face to a name. From beauty and lifestyle bloggers to fashion bloggers, not all of the of the girls were crafty bloggers, but they all gave it a go, and I was so impressed by the talent! The finished A4 magazine files looked stunning all lined up and ready for the bloggers to take home. They really looked like they belonged in an exclusive stationery shop! Watch out Kikki K!
Viking put on a fantastic event and I know the day was really well enjoyed by the bloggers as well as the hosts. Everyone got a goodie bag too which was just the icing on the cake at the end of the day.
Thank you to Natalie of the The Tofu Diaries and Search Laboratories for the lovely bright photos.
