About This Class:
A relaxed, experimental and mindful embroidery class, introducing you to hand embroidery. We will explore colour, create texture and develop shapes, using a wide variety of yarns, threads and beads and learning different embroidery stitches at the same time.
This class is perfect for those new to embroidery or even improvers who just want to learn this contemporary way of embroidering. Ruth will help you to create your own individual and unique piece of work. We will work on a 7” wooden hoop, and you will be shown options for backing and finishing the hoop ready to take home and hang.

With her wealth of experience and passion for traditional crafts, she's been running her own press since 2004. Kate specialises in crafting limited edition books and hand-printed papers, with a focus on fables, poetry, and illustration.

About This Class:
You may recognise this type of embroidery from your Grandma's home in the 60s, but now it is back! Well, actually it never really left. Bargello is a truly unique form of embroidery as there are both specific stitches and patterns required to make Bargello, Bargello.
During the class you will be introduced to the typical 'Vertical' stitch used throughout all Bargello, and then you'll get your head around the geometric patterns which are also characteristic of Bargello. You'll be stitching in no time, either one of our patterns or your own design, as our tutor is on hand to teach you how to use this unique form of embroidery to design your own unique pattern. Bargello can be used on normal fabric-like needlepoint fabric but we're using plastic canvas so that you can turn your Bargello design into a sturdy plant pot! Or you can a pencil holder, or make up brush holder even.

Our tutor, Bhavi is a professional Mehndi artist and a fellow sweet treat lover. She will take you through all of the steps of how to decorate 6 (almost-too-good-to-eat) biscuits and will give you all the skills needed to replicate the artwork at home.
This is an extremely mindful and practical 2.5 hour workshop. You will learn how to control your icing to create those lovely straight professional lines and dots, learn all the little hacks that only an experienced biscuiteer could pass on, as well as design your own biscuits with a lot of inspiration and ideas available to you! Then you will be given a box to take home your biscuits in, it's up to you if they make it home to your loved ones or not.

About This Class:
Embroidery is a highly therapeutic craft, it's really beautiful too! So why not get started on your embroidery adventure with us and Hannah from Couture Craft? During the session you'll learn how to stitch up this stunning bee and by the end you'll be well on your way to finishing this creation.
Hannah will take you through each stitch you'll need to complete the bee, as well as telling you how to transfer the design onto your fabric. This is a great project to get you on your way to become an embroidery pro, as it requires many different techniques and stitches; all that will be taught to you.
Your embroidery design will stay in the hoop and you can hang it on the wall for show! Once you’ve mastered the skill, you can try napkins, sheets, pillowcases… In fact, there won’t be a soft furnishing in your house left unadorned!
